Support Women Entrepreneurship in the Agri-food sector in Nigeria (SWEAN)
The SWEAN project aims to expand skills development of women agribusiness entrepreneurs in Nigeria, eliminate persistent gender biases in access to productive resources to create commercial and efficiently run Agrifood systems that are responsive to evolving market demands.
The project aims to remove barriers to profitability and efficiency of women-led agribusiness concerns in Oyo (Ibadan) and Kaduna (Zaria) States and increase agro-industrial value added through greater empowerment, technological transfers and linkages to local and international markets.
It will run from 01 September 2020 to 31 August 2022.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
- Compilation and standardisation of training activities for women agripreneurs in coordination with French ATVET experts
- A structured network of women agripreneurs created/strengthened
- Increased number of women agripreneurs
- Agribusiness training for women promoted with federal and state authorities and technical education institutions.
